Jets working to accumulate RFA Dylan Coghlan from Hurricanes

After shedding Brenden Dillon to New Jersey in free company, the Winnipeg Jets are making a transfer to bolster their blue line.

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported on Friday that the Jets are working to accumulate defenceman Dylan Coghlan from the Carolina Hurricanes.

Coghlan, who beforehand performed for the Vegas Golden Knights, has spent the previous two seasons with the Hurricanes group. In 2023-24, the 25-year-old performed with the Springfield Thunderbirds within the AHL, suiting up for 61 video games, the place he scored 16 objectives and recorded 41 factors.

In July 2022, Coghlan was traded to the Hurricanes, together with Max Pacioretty, from Vegas for future issues. He was provided a one-year contract by the Hurricanes forward of 2023-24 price $850,000. The restricted free agent, who has arbitration rights, is owed a brand new contract.
